— Help with Sports Counselling
with Jill Arnold

Sports Counselling is a specialized form of therapy designed to help athletes address mental, emotional and psychological challenges related to their participation in sports.  It combines aspects of traditional therapy with a focus on the unique pressures and demands that athletes face, such as performance anxiety, injury recovery, burnout, confidence and relationship dynamics.

Jill works with athletes of all levels, whether professional, international, regional or recreation.  The goal of sports counselling is to help athletes cope with the mental and emotional aspects of training and competition.  Sports counselling might also include EMDR if an accident or injury has occurred and created a block to training or performance.

Sport counselling assists in areas such as:

Mental Health support to help athletes deal with anxiety, depression, and stress that is affecting their performance and enjoyment within their sport.

Enhancing Performance with visualization, mental rehearsal, goal setting and mindfulness to improve focus and confidence.

Injury Recovery by supporting athletes through the emotional and physical rollercoaster of healing.

Transition, whether a professional athlete is retiring or an elite or recreational athlete is no longer able to compete.

Team and Coaching dynamics and relationships. Sports counselling can guide an athlete to effectively resolve interpersonal issues with teammates or coaches, building strong and clear communication skills and developing healthy boundaries.

Sports counselling helps athletes of all ages to develop confidence, strategies, skills and resilience.
